Stephen Côté, P. Eng., has been serving the insurance industry for more than 10 years, working closely for, and with, Michael Flynn. Specializing in structural design for new construction, repair, renovation and reconstruction of buildings, Mr. Côté has reliably provided creative, cost effective, and timely solutions to Insurers and their approved contractors to address the full spectrum of insurance related claims that cause structural damage to low rise commercial, industrial and residential buildings every day in Ontario.
Primary services provided by Mr. Côté include analysis of structural failures as a result of such causes as: fire, tree/vehicle impacts, environmental loading (wind/snow) and deficient design/construction in buildings and miscellaneous structures. Mr. Côté is effective with building science engineering, including moisture management and environmental remediation within buildings. Mr. Côté’s attention to detail is critical in his ability to provide clients with clear and concise opinions with respect to the cause(s) of reported damages, with all opinions strongly supported by evidence documented during comprehensive structural field investigations.
Mr. Côté has also provided investigation work to support Mr. Michael Flynn, CFEI, CFII, in fire loss related insurance claims for large and small buildings to assist with the completion of Cause and Origin investigations; where Mr. Flynn is the primary investigator. Support work for fire Cause and Origin investigations include: site and building documentation, collection of photographic evidence and extent of damage evaluations.
