With over 29 years as an Authority having Jurisdiction in the Fire Protection field, Glenn will provide a wealth of industry expertise to Roar Engineering. He recently retired as the Chief Fire Prevention Officer with the City of Markham and was previously a District Chief with the Toronto Fire and Emergency Services and District Chief of East York Fire Department prior to amalgamation. Glenn has been a senior officer for over 24 years and in that time his responsibilities included the interpretation and application of legislation, fire and building codes and standards and by-laws. Additionally, he has facilitated public education and media relations, ensured that fire department systems and programs were properly developed and implemented, discharged the duties and responsibilities of an incident commander at emergency scenes, advised Municipal Council on strategic issues associated with emergency services, evaluated emergency operations, conducted comprehensive fire safety studies, managed fire department personnel, and ensured compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation. Glen was the Alternate CEMC in the City of Markham and a training instructor for the Basic Emergency Management Course. He is also certified as a CMM III Fire Prevention Professional.
An experienced fire department senior manager and team player, contributing to municipal strategy and policy development through provision of expert advice to elected officials, municipal and regional management and key stakeholders on business issues related to Fire Services.
